What do we get out of this program ?

Graduates of SITECH’s Computer Science and Engineering department would find opportunities in many IT and IT enabled industries to work in a broad range of areas. They would be able to improve the stability and security of computers and computer networks. They would be able to come up with solutions to various real time problems faced by IT enabled industries and organizations. For instance, with the help of Business Analysts or Electronics Engineers and Mechanical Engineers, they would be able to create novel algorithms to analyze financial markets or even to design robots capable of thinking like human beings. Our community members (Faculty and Students) would continually make efforts to bring out breakthroughs in the theoretical computer science, logic and nontraditional computing.

What do we plan to do ?

Apart from ensuring an in-depth education in engineering principles built on mathematics, and computation, as stipulated by the affiliating university JNTU, we also plan to provide opportunities to the students to learn the physical and life sciences, and encourage them to apply what they learn through projects, internships, and research. We will succeed in our mission to produce graduates capable of taking leadership positions in the field of computer science and possibly beyond.

Academic requirements

The departmental unit requirements are not only based on the ones stipulated by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kukatpally, Hyderabad, India, but also provide flexibility for students who wish to have different electives in the fourth year of their study. Further, value-added courses are also planned for those students who desire to have expert knowledge in areas related to but not restricted to Image Processing, Molecular Computing, Web Enabled Control Systems and Design, Grid Computing, Parallel Computing Techniques.

The department of Computer Science and Engineering of SITECH has an understanding with M/s Sagar Soft Inc, a USA based Software Company for imparting practical training and developing technical competence in our students and faculty in various traditional and specialized areas related to Computer Science and Engineering. We are also likely to have a technical tie up with top notch companies like Microsoft and HP. Special focus would be given to research in niche areas like High Performance Computing (HPC), Mathematical Modelling, Human-Computer Interaction, Signal and Image Processing, Multisensor Fusion, Molecular Computing, Quantum Computing, Intelligent Information Integration, Knowledge Management (KM) Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Acquisition, Inferential Modeling Techniques, Agents And Appropriation, Intelligent Software Agents, Metacrawler Multi-Threaded Web Search Service, Multi-Purpose Intelligent Networked Decision Support, Grid and Pervasive Computing.

This program permits the undergraduates take a common core of subjects in the realm of Computer Science and Engineering, and then systematically build upon that broad foundation in terms of special and elective courses and projects to deepen their understanding in areas that match their individual interests.
